CEE bags India NGO award

The city-based Centre for Environment Education (CEE) was awarded the India NGO award for the western region in the large NGOs category in New Delhi recently.
Programme Director Shyamala Mani received the award on behalf of CEE for Union minister of finance P Chidambaram along with chairman and chief mentor, Infosys Technologies, N R Narayana Murthy.
The award recognises good standards and practices in resource mobilisation, accountability and transparency; celebrates excellence in the non-profit sector; identifies and strengthens successful resource mobilisation practices; creates examples and inspiration for others and promote cross-regional learning and the overall credibility of the non-profit sector for long-term sustainability.
Organisations were evaluated on effectiveness and sustainable mobilisation of resources from the local community; demonstration of efficient management of resources, good governance practices, transparency and accountability and the impact of the services it provides to the community it aims to serve.
