15th Eastern Africa Resource Mobilisation Workshop
"All you need to know about fundraising"

The key event in the Eastern Africa fundraising calendar returns in 2008, with the aim of bringing you the best resource mobilisation event so far. Organised in collaboration with the Kenya Association of Fundraising Professionals, the 15th Eastern Africa Resource Mobilisation Workshop will be held from Monday 24th to Friday 28th November at Sarova White Sands Beach Resort and Spa in Mombasa, Kenya.
With this year’s theme of “All You Need To Know About Fundraising”, the workshop will deliver a wide range of sessions rich in critical fundraising skills. By the end of the workshop, participants will be:
- Equipped with the latest resource mobilisation skills and techniques.
- Up to date with the latest fundraising trends, opportunities and challenges.
- Informed on best practice, experiences and success stories.
- Networked with other fundraising professionals from all over the world.
The workshop is open to everyone with a deep interest in and passion for resource mobilisation. It will be particularly useful for fundraising professionals from all sectors, chief executives, senior managers and Trustees / Board members of non-profits and for-profits involved in development, and consultants with an interest in resource mobilisation.
The main workshop will run from Tuesday 25th to Friday 28th November, and will consist of 6 plenaries and 10 workshops. Case studies will feature strongly to provide more practical insights into resource mobilisation. Some workshops planned for the event include:
- Fundraising in the African Wilderness: Raising Money by Selling Fun
- The Corporate Fundraiser: Moving from Short Term Grants to Long Term Partnerships
- Going Bust: Emergency Fundraising Strategies to Keep You Afloat
- Fundraising Online: Going Hi-tech in the 21st Century
New for 2008 is an optional Master Course programme, to be held over an extra day from Monday 24th afternoon to Tuesday 25th morning. Designed to build more comprehensive skills and know-how in your selected area of interest, the Master Courses will cover such topics as developing fundraising strategy, writing competitive proposals, attracting donors and building a consultancy business.
