3° International Fundraising Congress

This event took place on 14 - 15th August 2008 in Buenos Aires, Argentina and was organised by AEDROS in association with the Resource Alliance and AFP (US).  More than 280 delegates from 13 countries (Dominican Republic, Mexico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, Panama and Uruguay) attended the Congress.

Delegates had their choice of 35 workshops on 8 different subjects, delivered by a range of the finest local and international speakers including: Bernard Ross (UK), Marcelo Iñarra Iraegui (Argentina), Joao Meirelles (Brazil), Sandra Rapetti (Uruguay), Norma Galafassi (Argentina), Annette Candanedo (Mexico), Tim Burchman (USA), Gonzalo Ibarra (Chile), Fernando Frydman (Argentina), among others.  There were also two group plenaries, for the opening and the closing of the event which combined entertainment and learning. The subject for the opening was exploring the mysteries of the DNA of fundraising while the closing focused on the DNA of fundraisers and donors.

An anecdotic moment was the opening which was hosted by Marcelo Iniarra and Fernando Frydman, with 4 other international speakers speaking on the components of successful fundraising - communication, passion, creativity and commitment.  Delegates voted with their mobile phones and online results of the voting were showed on site.

Third Hemispheric Congress on Fundraising

For the third consecutive year, the Congress was co-convened by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and The Resource Alliance. The event was held at the Sheraton Centro Histórico in Mexico City, Mexico from 23rd - 25th May 2007.

The congress was presented mostly in Spanish with some sessions in English and handouts were available in both languages.

Second Andean Congress on Resource Mobilisation 

In its second year, The Resource Alliance, Solidar and Mal Warwick & Associates co-organised the Second Andean Congress on Resource Mobilisation held at the Catholic University in Lima, Peru. The workshop took place the 13th and 14th of December, 2006. www.solidar.org.pe
