Resource Alliance appoints Gordon Michie as IFC ambassador for UK
Well-known fundraiser Gordon Michie of Relationship Fundraising is to act as the UK national ambassador for the International Fundraising Congress (IFC).
Director of development Michie takes over from Judy Beard who combined her role of UK ambassador with that of IFC board chair before stepping down as chair last year.
IFC’s other 18 national ambassadors act to promote the Congress to fundraisers, but as that sales and marketing role is largely carried out by Resource Alliance staff in the UK, Michie will be acting as a liaison officer with charities and other NGOs, promoting IFC at a corporate rather than individual level.
“Gordon is the perfect appointment to this role,” says Tim Hunter, chair of the IFC board and deputy director of fundraising at the NSPCC in the UK. “Everyone knows Gordon. He’s worked in fundraising around the world, and, as he’s been a regular at the IFC throughout the last decade, he totally understands the value of this congress.”
The 28th IFC takes place on 14-17 October in the Netherlands. Click here to book a place or for further information.
New seminar with Mal Warwick in Malaysia
Leading author, consultant and public speaker Mal Warwick is giving an executive seminar on 17 and 18 September at the Tropicana Golf and Country Resort, Petaling Jaya.
The seminar, organised by the Resource Alliance, will draw from Mal’s strategic approach ‘The Five Strategies for Fundraising Success’ which has helped NGO leaders worldwide gain insight into setting priorities and making intelligent choices that maximise the value of their fundraising efforts.
You will learn how to navigate through this proven method to help your organisation grow, engage your donors, raise your public profile, increase the efficiency of your fundraising programme and ensure your long-term stability.
The seminar is limited to only 50 participants, and costs RM350 per person, which includes seminar materials, lunch and coffee breaks. There’s a RM50 discount per person if you register and pay before 25 August.
