The Fundraisers Fund exists to support the professional development of some of the rising stars in fundraising in the developing world, and to ensure sustainable knowledge sharing on general and specific fundraising, resource mobilisation and voluntary sector management issues.

Donations help establish bursaries for participants to attend training events and knowledge sharing workshops, with grants also made available towards other programme initiatives which aim to build   fundraising capacity.

Broadening access to information about resource mobilisation is a crucial goal of the Fundraisers Fund. To encourage access to those resources, the fund will also be used to continue the development and translation of fundraising materials such as printed and electronic materials in different languages like Spanish. In March 2005, e-Noticias de Fundraising, the Resource Alliance's Spanish e-newsletter was successfully launched.

The Fundraisers Fund evolved out of the Resource Alliance’s Guy Stringer Bursary Fund, which was established and launched in October 2002 through the support of a number of corporate donors, including the founding corporate partner SAZ.

At Resource Alliance we believe it is essential that voluntary organisations are enabled to build their fundraising and communication abilities so they can better meet the world's challenges. The more voluntary sector personnel are given opportunities to learn and network, the faster this knowledge will be spread in the communities that need it most.

Each year a number of Fundraisers Fund bursaries are awarded to enable fundraisers from developing economies to attend our international workshops.
